Classic Leather
Established in the foothills of North Carolina over 35 years ago, Classic Leather began production with only eight styles, and several leather selections. Today, as the oldest leather manufacturer in the United States, we now offer nearly 200 leather selections and 300 frame options. With the continued evolution of global markets, we utilize this rich history as a Leather Specialist to select the premiere leather hides from around the world. Once we have completed the initial leather selection process, we then rely upon the dedicated workmanship of skilled craftsmen to produce the finest leather upholstery. Located in Hickory, North Carolina, our 900,000 square foot facility combines state of the art manufacturing automation, with a tradition of meticulous, hand-built detail. Beginning with the initial kiln-drying of top quality lumber, we first manufacture the integral frame components that will be compatible with the durability of the leather selection. Next, we elect to oversee all other aspects of the manufacturing process, from the cutting and sewing of all patterns, to the carving and finishing of all exposed wood frames. It is this continued commitment to “vertical integration” that allows Classic Leather to maintain the highest standards of manufacturing quality. While there are a variety of ways to mass produce furniture at a lower price, Classic is committed to provide the same valuable product that our customers have learned to expect over the last three decades.
Ultimately, each Classic Leather piece reflects the personal selection of each individual customer, from the choice of style and color, right down to the desired cushion and wood finish. During the many years of enjoyment that this investment will return to the customer, however, it is Classic’s intention that the furniture will also illustrate our own commitment to maintaining the tradition of building the finest leather furniture.
